Design Fix: Pipe Dreams

Environmentally conscious (and humorous!) task lamp from Kozo lamp. Yes, the twist crank turns the lamp on & off!

Very fun coat rack from London designer Nick Fraser.  Also comes in white & black.

In case you hadn't heard of... artful home

I'm officially on spring cleaning duty at home. Ha! My linen closet has a shelf dedicated to various catalogs & trade publications that I don't necessarily want out in the open. Somehow, I've accumulated quite the [ahem] reference collection. This catalog comes in handy when seeking out unique gifts.
Artful home features bright colors on most everything. loves art glass anything. & much of the jewelry & wall art tends to be very modern & industrial.

Design Fix: reclaimed decorative letters

Decorative letters and words are a great addition as alternative art to the home. Many home good-type stores have them these days, but they all seem to look alike & are often traditional in design. These reclaimed marquis letters from IOUvintage are fun & unique. And the channel letters would also make a great sculpture piece. Definitely great conversational pieces!

My crafty & design-y life

So.....I don't believe that I've mentioned what I do for a living (aka --day job/only up & running on Etsy for about a month). I come from a family of crafters, however I was determined to turn my creativity into a "career".

I work at a hospitality (hotels) interior design firm. While it's not as glamourous (or easy) as HGTV would like to make you believe, it definately has its perks. I do get to spend my day around all of this:

Note: the blue/green carpet & fabric samples are sitting on what would be a table.......this table is generally covered like this with the most current hot button design project.
