i want that. twitter ID necklaces

These are too cool! Okay, I admit that Twitter isn't my favorite mode of social interaction. Hey, I like it one step above texting [ha, that one really does bug a couple of my friends!]. For those that text nonstop, I can understand the appeal...but can someone tell me how you handle the constant barrage of updates? It baffles me as to why anyone chooses to be that tied to a single piece of equipment no matter the compact size!

But of course I still use Twitter & I do enjoy the occasional eavesdropping of Neil Gaiman & Kevin Smith baiting the other as much as anyone else [so you substitute your own favs, okay]. These customized necklaces from Survival of the Hippest would make a fabulous gift for the guy, or gal, that turns Twitter-ing into an extracurricular activity!

Tweet, tweet!

studious reflection. new stuff. must show discipline.

Now listed at cardinalhouse. Rosalind necklace - dusty blue & sage green damask. $36. only 1 available.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So at work [design office], I get to dabble with a ton of different designs. Modern, traditional, boutique, resort, reds, blues, etc. That's one of the fabulous things about design. I can play with all sorts of fun stuff, but don't have to live in it & it's not exactly my money [not so simple as that, but that's how I'll leave it here ;)].
It's the same feeling with all of the fabric that I'm recycling into these necklaces. Unfortunately, the jewelry is so much easier to keep. Most of the fabric comes from old sample books, so I can only make 1 or 2 of many styles. So when I fall in love with such a one of a kind necklace [like above], well, it takes quite the show of discipline to actually list it at the shop. I don't wear the actual piece that I sell; I test out the necklaces to make sure the length is okay & that they lay correctly, but I don't wear them out on a hot date, you know?.
Now listed at cardinalhouse. Rosalind necklace - raspberry, sage, eggplant. $36. 2 available.
It really would be nice to only do this one day [make jewelry]. I can't keep everything I make & expect to turn this into anything. It's that same feeling of when you're re-assessing your finances & streamlining certain little extras.
Now listed at cardinalhouse. Rosalind necklace - dusty blue. $36. only 1 available.
I did other things this weekend, but I set the goal of working up some of the flowers that I made last weekend. While I love these necklaces, I will encourage discipline. I listed them so I couldn't change my mind!
The new Rosalind necklaces all shown above are all 18" long with a 2" extender. Personally, I like them hanging at just about 19" but I wanted to maintain versatility. Let me know what you think.
Now listed at cardinalhouse. Rosa necklace - azalea pink & jet black. $28. 2 available.
Whew! 4 new necklaces, computer work, errands, cleaning, fireside social...much was accomplished this weekend [pats back].
Creative Juices Flowing again...
Okay, so there are not enough hours in the day. To top it off, my fellow co-workers pass on their sickness to me (the nerve!). However, I'm still listing a few items at a time on Etsy. I'm balancing posting new items & my mom's stuff.
I received great response so far about the Blue Jean Rose necklace. I will be listing variations of this necklace in another week or so.
This weekend I must sort through my supply inventory. I want to get crackin' on my Catch Phrase Lariats.....it will be a whole line of witty & fun common sayings. Also, I need to finish (polish/ buff) more of my block print pendants.
I've only been up & running on Etsy for a couple of weeks now, but it's been great just to jump start my creatvity again. Now if I just had the time!!
Busy busy little bee.......
I have a lot of things going on right now & I'm trying to be a master juggler! In addition to the everyday grind (my job+family), I'm working on setting up shop. Now, I've never been any good at keeping up with anything like a journal.....however, I've read a lot of great blogs out there. It's a great way to feel connected & to find inspiration in the everyday. We're reminded that there are so many others out there going through the same trials & tribulations.
I will work on more entries, but I have a ton of "inventory" to go through & photograph, write up, etc. In lieu of the juggling mentioned earlier, please check out the shop for a quick profile. I did upload pic's of jewelry to Flickr and posted the mini-gallery to the right of your screen. Those items may or may not make to the shop.....they are a mish-mash of some of my stuff & some of my mom's.....oi vay!
